Afa Shell Hanging

Little wall hanging made of afa (Samoan name for sennit/braid made of coconut husk) and shells.

The afa is made in Samoa (actually quite a process to it! It is only made by males and involves treating the coconut husk, beating it, rolling strands and then plaiting it). It is then combined with shells here in NZ to make a cute wee string of Moana
